Does anybody remember the "Awful Awful" Pie at the Nugget Casino in Sparks Nevada from about 50 years ago?

These were different kinds of pies such as lemon, coconut cream, chocolate etc. and what made them remarkable were the toppings. They were about a mile high and incredibly delicious. They seemed to be made of a combination of merengue, whipped cream and marshmallow. I'm wondering if anyone would have a recipe.
